I hear what you’re saying, but what do you want to do about it?
Besides, in the US 80% of millionaires are first generation millionaires. Upward mobility is very possible and downward mobility to all too common. I’ve seen it more than a few times first-hand.
I personally come from a very poor family and have gone through more than a few hardships. I know if I were from a rich or even middle-class family I’d have a ton more money and wealth right now. It’s very hard to start and run a business with very little capital. Conisder a bankruptcy attorney in salt lake city Utah chapter 13.
Who is promoting actions that go against life?
There are and will always be people that need help, and they should be helped. But I see no reason for able-bodied people to be sucking at the gov’t teat. There should be no “safety net” for lazy people.
In fact, there is nothing in the world worse than being lazy. And I refuse to hear it when people say “there are no jobs.” There’s always jobs. They might not be the kind of jobs you want, but they are there. If you had to find a job or die trying, I guarantee not one person would die.
And here’s another thing that irks me about society. All these college graduates that say they can’t find a job. Maybe they should have thought of that before they picked “liberal arts” as their major.
You speak as if every employer were a slave driver who mistreated and underpaid his or her employees. Most employers want to pay their employees good salaries. If they are paying good salaries, it means the employee is doing a good job and bringing value.
Believe me, as an employer myself, there’s nothing I’d want more than a super valuable employee whom I pay handsomely. I’m willing to pay top dollar, gladly.
Not every business is a sweatshop.
Furthermore, I wholeheartedly am against unemployment. It makes me less likely to hire full time employees. Why the hell should I pay someone who isn’t working? Does that seem fair?
The uncertainty created by all these extensions of unemployment benefits–and never mind Obamacare added in–makes employers less likely to hire. Uncertainty is bad for employment.
To top this off, people just need to take personal responsibility. If they “die” when they lose their job, they should have planned and budgeted better. Employers aren’t there to coddle and take care of their employees. Employees are hired to do a job. That’s all the relationship is and should be.
Employer does not equal exploiter.
I don’t understand why you’re so negative on employers. Employers are what make the economy run. They aren’t slave drivers and aren’t there solely to exploit their workers.
Like I said, I’d be more than happy to pay my employees handsomely if they brought in enough to make it feasible. But I have no desire to pay anyone one cent more than they are worth to my company. That’s the beauty of hiring contractors and paying them 1099s based on performance.
I’d love to pay someone in that position six figures plus a year, because it would be worth it to me. Hell, I’d love to pay that person millions.
